Turning Point Rural Housing Project

Eligibility

  • All Eligibility criteria must be met by all applicants in order to be accepted into the Turning Point Project.
  • Each participant must meet HUD's definition of homelessness.
  • Written documentation signed by a human service agency provider must verify the applicant has been a resident of the eleven county area served by the project for at least 6 months of the 12 months prior to the date of the application.
  • Verification of the homeless situation and domestic violence factors must be provided in writing at the time of application.
  • Priority eligibility will be given to households with children who are homeless as a result of domestic violence.
  • HUD's definition of homeless does not include any individual imprisoned or otherwise detained under an Act of Congress or a State Law.
  • Persons residing in or approved for residency in any HUD subsidized individual housing unit (i.e. section 8) at the time of acceptance are not eligible for project participation.
